No. Pawsitive Start is not a shelter or rescue. We support adopted shelter pets after adoption by helping with eligible first-year care needs.

Our program is focused on adopted shelter dogs and cats. Eligibility may depend on program guidelines, available funding, and provider availability.

Assistance Questions

What expenses may be covered?

Approved support may include veterinary care, vaccinations, medications, preventive care, grooming, food, supplies, basic training, or other eligible first-year care needs.

Does Pawsitive Start pay adopters directly?

No. Pawsitive Start pays approved participating service providers directly. Funds are not paid directly to adopters.

Is assistance guaranteed?

No. Assistance depends on eligibility, available funding, participating provider availability, and program guidelines. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.

How do I apply for help?

You can apply through the Apply for Assistance page. Be prepared to provide adoption details, pet information, and the type of care being requested.

Provider Questions

Who can join the Provider Network?

Veterinarians, groomers, trainers, pet supply businesses, mobile pet care providers, boarding facilities, and other eligible pet care professionals may apply to join.

Is there a fee to become a provider?

At this time, joining the Pawsitive Start Provider Network is intended to be free. Premium visibility or sponsorship opportunities may be offered in the future.

How are providers paid?

Approved providers submit required documentation or invoices for eligible services. Pawsitive Start pays providers directly according to program guidelines.

Can providers edit their own listings?

Yes. Participating providers may have access to a provider dashboard where they can manage their business profile, services, contact details, and other listing information.

Donation Questions

How can I donate?

Are donations tax-deductible?
