The Process Is Simple
Our goal is to make support easier for new pet families while keeping the process clear, responsible, and provider-focused.
Apply for Support
A pet family submits an assistance request after adopting an eligible shelter dog or cat.
Request Is Reviewed
Pawsitive Start reviews the request, confirms basic eligibility, and determines whether support may be available.
Care Is Coordinated
Approved services are coordinated through a participating veterinarian, groomer, trainer, or other provider.
Provider Performs Service
The participating provider completes the approved service and submits the required documentation or invoice.
Provider Is Paid Directly
Pawsitive Start pays the approved provider directly. Funds are not paid directly to adopters.
Pets Start Strong
With support in place, more adopted pets can stay healthy, safe, and loved in their new homes.

We Pay Providers Directly
To keep the process transparent and mission-focused, Pawsitive Start does not issue cash payments directly to adopters. Approved support is paid directly to participating service providers after eligible services are completed and documented.
This helps ensure donated funds are used for approved pet care expenses and gives providers a clear process for supporting adopted pets.
